Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Ambrosia fruit salad is a cold, creamy American dessert of mandarin oranges, pineapple and grapes folded into whipped cream and sour cream with plenty of marshmallows. The sour cream is the clever part, cutting the sweetness with a mild tang. It dates to the 1900s and became a fixture at United States family gatherings. It takes five minutes to assemble, and the fridge does the rest.
Instructions
Drain the mandarin oranges and the canned pineapple well, so the salad does not turn watery in the fridge. Put the oranges, pineapple and grapes together in a large bowl and toss them gently.
Add the whipped cream, sour cream and miniature marshmallows. Fold everything together with a spatula until the fruit and marshmallows are evenly coated and no streaks of sour cream remain.
Cover the bowl and chill it for at least an hour, which gives the marshmallows time to soften into the cream.
Give the salad a final stir just before serving to redistribute the dressing that has settled at the bottom of the bowl.
Make it personal.
