Banana Caramel Dessert

6 ingredients Cuisine: American Page updated October 2026

This banana and caramel pastry borrows the flavors of banoffee pie and replaces the crust with a can of cinnamon rolls. Bananas tossed in butter and vanilla soften in the oven while the dough turns golden around them. Warm caramel goes on at the end, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream is optional. There are only a few ingredients and the bake takes about 12 minutes, so it suits a last-minute dessert.

Instructions

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Put the sliced bananas in a small bowl with the vanilla and melted butter. Toss gently until every slice is coated.

Set two cinnamon rolls on a cookie sheet, unrolled, with the two triangles of dough left joined to make a square. Spoon a quarter of the banana mixture into the center of each pair of rolls.

Bake for 11 to 13 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.

Warm the caramel sauce and drizzle it over the pastries. Serve while still warm, with vanilla ice cream on the side if you like.
