Buttered Popcorn

Buttered popcorn is the simplest way to turn a bowl of plain popped corn into something worth eating by the handful. Melted butter coats each kernel more evenly than solid butter ever could, and a pinch of salt sharpens the whole thing. Drizzle slowly and toss between pours, so the bottom of the bowl gets its share and the top does not turn greasy.

Instructions

Put the popped popcorn in a large bowl, leaving enough room at the top that you can toss it without spilling.

Drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn a little at a time, tossing as you go so the kernels are coated evenly rather than soaked in one spot.

Sprinkle salt over the popcorn if you want it, then toss once more to spread it through the bowl. Taste a few pieces and add more salt if needed.
