Cherry Cobbler in a Crock Pot
This cherry cobbler needs only five ingredients and a slow cooker, so the oven stays off. Canned cherry pie filling forms the fruit base, and a crumble of dry cake mix and butter bakes into a buttery topping under a layer of nuts. Any other fruit pie filling works in its place. Leftovers are worth saving, because cold cobbler stirred into oatmeal or yogurt makes an easy breakfast.
Instructions
Pour the cherry pie filling into the slow cooker and spread it out so it covers the bottom of the crock in an even layer.
In a medium bowl, work the dry cake mix and the softened butter together until the mixture looks crumbly, with no dry pockets of powder left.
Scatter the crumbs evenly over the cherries, then sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top.
Set the slow cooker to low, cover it, and cook for 3 hours.
Serve the cobbler hot straight from the crock, or spoon it over ice cream if you like. Any leftovers can be refrigerated and stirred into hot oatmeal or yogurt the next morning.
