Clam Dip

Clam dip is a quick, creamy spread that turns a can of clams into something worth setting out with a party. The recipe is flexible: cream cheese makes it thick and scoopable, while sour cream keeps it lighter and tangier. Lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce give the mild clams a sharp, savory edge, and optional garlic adds more bite. It needs no cooking, only a bowl and a spoon.

Instructions

If you are using canned clams, drain them well so the dip does not turn watery. If you cooked the clams yourself, mince them finely and let them cool.

Put the clams in a bowl with your choice of cream cheese or sour cream. Cream cheese gives a thicker, spreadable dip, while sour cream gives a looser, tangier one.

Add the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, your chosen seasonings, salt and pepper. Stir in the minced garlic as well if you want it.

Mix everything together until the dip is smooth and evenly combined. Taste it and adjust the salt, pepper and lemon juice to suit.

Serve the dip right away, or cover it and keep it in the refrigerator until you need it.
