Dirt Pudding
Dirt pudding is a no-bake dessert of vanilla pudding, whipped topping and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. The crumbs give it a soil-like top, which is why children tend to like it and why it often shows up at parties. It takes only a few minutes of work, and the only real step is waiting while it chills. You can stir it together or build it in layers, depending on the dish you have.
Instructions
Put the cookies in a zipper-style plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin, or break them down in a food processor until they look like coarse soil.
Make the pudding with the cold milk, following the directions on the package. Let it stand for 5 minutes so it can set.
Stir 3 cups of the thawed whipped topping and half of the crushed cookies into the pudding. If you prefer layers, alternate the crushed cookies with the pudding and whipped topping mixture instead.
Spoon the mixture into any bowl or dish you like.
Scatter the remaining crushed cookies over the top so the surface looks like dirt. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Make it personal.
