French Dressing
This sweet, tangy red French dressing is made from pantry staples and takes about ten minutes. Ketchup and a generous amount of sugar give it the sticky sweetness that American diners expect, while white wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce keep it sharp and savory. Minced onion and paprika add body and color. It is the style sold commercially as Catalina, and it works on green salads or as a sandwich spread.
Instructions
Measure all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor.
Process until the mixture is completely smooth and has turned into an even red-orange sauce. If you prefer, you can whisk everything together in a large bowl instead, beating until the oil is fully blended in.
Pour the dressing into a bowl or jar and cover it. Chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Make it personal.
