Ghavoot (Iranian Nut and Seed Powder)

Ghavoot is a fine, sweetened powder of roasted nuts, seeds, chickpeas and spices, and it is a traditional souvenir of Kerman, Iran. Coffee, cinnamon, nigella and poppy seeds sit alongside walnuts, almonds and pistachios, so the flavor is dark, nutty and slightly bitter. Each ingredient is roasted on its own, then everything is ground with sugar. Eat it by the spoonful or stir it into milk or hot water.
Instructions
Grind each of the ingredients on its own: the coffee beans, cinnamon, sesame seeds, cottonseeds, nigella seeds, poppy seeds, chickpeas, walnuts, almonds and pistachios.
Roast each ground component separately as well, so every one is toasted to its own degree.
Weigh the roasted powders together and measure out an equal weight of sugar.
Add the sugar to the powders and grind everything together until you have one fine, even powder.
Serve the powder as it is, or stir it into milk or hot water to make a drink.
Make it personal.
