Hot Fudge
This hot fudge is a quick chocolate sauce for ice cream, made in one saucepan in about five minutes. It uses only pantry staples: milk, sugar, cocoa, a dash of salt, a little butter and vanilla. The butter and vanilla go in after the heat is off, so they stay rich and fragrant. A short rest and a good beating with a spoon give you a thick sauce.
Instructions
Put the milk, sugar, cocoa and salt in a saucepan and stir them together. Set the pan over heat and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil.
Turn off the heat. Add the butter and the vanilla.
Leave the pan to rest for a couple of minutes, until the butter has melted into the sauce. Beat it with a spoon until smooth and glossy, then spoon it over ice cream while it is still warm.
Make it personal.
