Magic Brownies
Magic brownies are ordinary chocolate brownies made with butter that has been slowly infused with ground cannabis. This version keeps the infusion gentle, holding the butter under 200 °F for a few hours so it never boils. Lemon zest and vanilla sit alongside the chocolate, and the effects arrive an hour or more after eating, so cut small pieces and wait before having another.
Instructions
Melt the butter in a small saucepan and stir in the ground cannabis. Keep the heat low and let it cook slowly for 2 to 3 hours, never letting it boil or go above 200 °F (93 °C).
If you prefer a smoother result, strain the butter to remove the cannabis solids.
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir the melted chocolate into the infused butter until the mixture is smooth.
Stir in the sugar, and let the mixture cool a little if it is very hot.
Beat in the eggs, vanilla, salt and lemon zest until the batter is smooth.
Fold in the flour gently, stopping as soon as no dry streaks remain.
Scrape the batter into a greased or parchment-lined pan and spread it out evenly.
Bake at 360°F/180°C for about 20 to 25 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick pushed into the center comes out with no wet batter on it.
Make it personal.
