Mandoca is a Venezuelan snack of banana peppers rolled in flour and deep fried, and it takes only three ingredients. The dish is said to have started at the snack bar of the Ford factory in Pedernales in the 1990s. Banana peppers are the traditional choice, though any pepper will work. The quick fry, about 2 minutes, makes it a fast snack to put together.

Instructions

Roll each banana pepper in the flour until it is coated all over, with no bare patches showing.

Fill the deep fryer with oil and bring it up to frying heat.

Lower the coated peppers into the oil and deep fry them for about 2 minutes.

Lift the peppers out of the oil and serve them as a snack.
