This peanut butter banana smoothie is a thick, cold drink you can make in one blender jar in a couple of minutes. Unsweetened almond milk keeps the base light, so the sweetness comes from the ripe banana and a little honey rather than from the milk. Two tablespoons of peanut butter give it body and a roasted, salty depth. Swap the honey for agave and it becomes fully vegan.

Instructions

Pour the almond milk into the blender first, so the blades catch liquid before anything solid.

Add the peeled banana, the honey, the peanut butter and the ice. If you want a vegan drink, use agave nectar in place of the honey.

Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, with no flecks of ice or lumps of peanut butter left. Pour into a glass and drink it right away, before the ice melts and thins it out.
