Stir-fried shrimp with broccoli is a quick weeknight dish built from just six ingredients. The garlic is fried in oil first until golden, which flavors the whole pan before anything else goes in. Oyster sauce supplies savory depth, and a little water turns it into a light glaze that clings to the broccoli and shrimp. Serve it with steamed rice for a simple, fast dinner.

Instructions

Heat a pan over a fairly high flame and pour in the oil. Add the minced garlic and fry it, stirring, until it turns golden.

Add the peeled shrimp and the broccoli florets to the pan. Sprinkle over the salt and spoon in the oyster sauce.

Pour in a small splash of water and stir everything together so the sauce coats the shrimp and broccoli. Keep stirring until the shrimp are cooked through and the broccoli is tender but still bright.

Tip the stir-fry onto a plate and serve straight away.
