Sweet Onion Ranch Dressing
This sweet onion ranch is a mayonnaise-based dressing that tilts ranch toward the sugary side. A quarter cup of sugar and a quarter cup of red wine vinegar pull against each other, so the dressing tastes tangy and sweet at once. Fresh oregano and basil, plus dry mustard and plenty of minced onion and garlic, give it a savory backbone. It needs only one bowl and no cooking.
Instructions
Mince the garlic and onions finely, and mince the oregano and chop the basil, so nothing in the dressing is chunky.
Put the garlic, onions, sugar, vinegar, olive oil and mayonnaise in a large bowl. Add the dry mustard, oregano and basil.
Season with salt and black pepper, then stir everything together until the mixture is evenly combined and has no streaks of mayonnaise.
Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed. Serve it over salad greens, or use it as a dip.
Make it personal.
