Tater Tot Casserole
Tater tot casserole is a three-ingredient dinner of seasoned ground beef under a crisp lid of potato nuggets. The canned soup works as the sauce, binding the browned beef into a creamy base, while the tots on top turn golden and crunchy in the oven. Swap in cheddar cheese soup for a cheesier version, or stir in peas for some green. It needs almost no prep and feeds six.
Instructions
Heat the oven to 350 °F (177 °C). Cook the ground beef in a skillet until no pink remains, then drain off the fat.
Stir the can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup into the drained beef until the meat is evenly coated.
Spread the beef mixture in a casserole dish. Arrange the tater tots over the top in a single layer.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until the tots are golden and crisp and the filling is hot throughout. If you like, scatter grated cheddar over the top shortly before it comes out.
