Banana Split

A banana split is a five-minute dessert built from one banana and three scoops of ice cream. The classic trio of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate gives each spoonful a different character, and the banana adds a soft, mild sweetness that keeps the cold scoops from feeling heavy. Chocolate sauce ties everything together, and whipped cream is there if you want it. It needs no cooking and no special equipment.
Instructions
Peel the banana and cut it in half lengthwise so you have two long pieces.
Lay the two banana halves side by side in a long dish, cut sides facing up.
Put the scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle, between the banana halves. Place the strawberry and chocolate scoops on either side of it.
Pour chocolate sauce over the ice cream and banana. Add a spoonful of whipped cream on top if you like.
Serve right away, before the ice cream starts to melt.
Make it personal.
