Beer Batter
A beer batter that takes ten minutes and a single bowl. Cornstarch makes up most of the dry mix, with a smaller amount of flour, so the coating is built for frying and not for bulk. Garlic salt and paprika add a light savory note without competing with the beer. Dip onion rings, fish, shrimp, chicken or vegetables and fry. The recipe makes enough for two servings.
Instructions
Put the cornstarch, flour, garlic salt, paprika, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir them together until the seasonings are evenly spread through the flour.
Pour in the beer and stir to combine. Keep mixing until no dry pockets or lumps of flour remain and the batter looks smooth.
Use the batter right away to coat onion rings, fish, shrimp, chicken or vegetables before deep-frying.
Make it personal.
