Burple Nurples

Burple Nurples is a small butter cookie borrowed from the cartoon Chowder, where it appears as a dubious snack. The real version is simple: one egg, two sticks of melted butter, sugar and flour, with a pinch of ground coriander as the only spice. Melting the butter means no creaming is needed, so you just stir and roll. The coriander adds a faint citrusy note that plain sugar cookies lack. The contributor admits it is unclear whether these are meant to be eaten.

Instructions

Heat the oven to 320°F.

Crack the egg gently into a mixing bowl, taking care not to break the yolk or let shell fall in.

Stir in the sugar first, then add the melted butter, the flour and the pinch of coriander. Mix until everything comes together into a dough.

Shape the dough into small balls and set them on a cookie sheet.

Bake the balls for 1 hour, then take them out and let them cool before handling.
