Chicken Parisian is a slow-cooker chicken dish that makes its own creamy wine sauce from just a few pantry items. Wine and cream of mushroom soup form the base, and sour cream stirred in at the end gives the sauce a slight tang. Because it cooks for 8 hours on low, you can start it before lunch and have supper ready with no further attention. Spoon it over steamed white rice.

Instructions

Stir the wine and the cream of mushroom soup together in the slow cooker. If the mixture looks thin because you poured in too much wine, sprinkle in a little flour to thicken it.

Trim the fat from the chicken pieces and rinse them well. Lay the chicken in the sauce and push it down until it is completely covered.

Stir in the sour cream and put the lid on. Cook on low heat for 8 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

Serve the chicken and its sauce over steamed white rice. If you have leftovers, refrigerate the sauce and the rice in separate containers.
