Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Toast
Chocolate chip peanut butter toast is a peanut butter cup built on a slice of bread, ready in about 7 minutes. The broiler does two jobs: it crisps the bread and then softens the chocolate in roughly 20 seconds. Choose smooth peanut butter for a clean melt or crunchy for texture. For contrast, skip the second broiling and top the toast with cold chips straight from the refrigerator.
Instructions
Toast the bread on both sides in a toaster oven set to the broiler setting. The surface should be dry and lightly browned so it can carry the topping.
Spread the peanut butter over the toast, covering it from edge to edge.
Scatter the chocolate chips over the peanut butter. Use a light hand or a heavy one, depending on how much chocolate you want in each bite.
Return the toast to the broiler for about 20 seconds, just until the chocolate chips soften and turn glossy. If you like, spread the softened chocolate over the peanut butter with a knife before eating.
