Fried Bananas

Fried bananas turn a fruit bowl leftover into a hot, caramelized dessert in about 20 minutes. Very ripe bananas work best here, because their sugars brown quickly in melted butter and the slices stay tender inside while the edges go golden. Brown sugar adds a molasses note, and cinnamon is optional. Spoon them over vanilla ice cream, pancakes or waffles, or eat them straight from the pan.
Instructions
Set a skillet or frying pan over medium heat and let the butter melt completely.
Lay the banana slices in the pan in a single layer if you can, then scatter the brown sugar over them.
Cook the slices for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. They are ready when both sides are golden brown and the sugar has turned to a sticky caramel coating.
If you are using cinnamon, sprinkle it over the bananas while they cook so it warms in the butter.
Lift the bananas out of the pan and serve them hot. A scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side melts nicely into the warm slices.
Make it personal.
