Garlic shrimp scampi pasta is a quick weeknight dinner that takes about 15 minutes from start to plate. The sauce is nothing more than butter, garlic and lemon juice, so the shrimp stay the focus, and a spoonful of red chile flakes adds a gentle heat against the richness. Everything happens while the spaghetti boils, which means one pan and very little waiting. This version is adapted from a Tasty video.

Instructions

Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until it is al dente, tender but still slightly firm when you bite it.

While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the garlic to the melted butter and stir it around the pan for a short time so it flavors the butter.

Add the shrimp and cook for 6 minutes, stirring now and then. They are done when they have turned pink-red all over.

Season the shrimp with the salt and black pepper, then stir in the lemon juice, chile flakes and parsley.

Drain the spaghetti in a colander and add it to the pan, stirring until the pasta is coated in the buttery shrimp mixture.

Divide the pasta among 4 plates and serve right away.
