Nigerian fruit skewer, also called fruit kebab, is a simple snack made from a mix of fresh fruit on a stick. The combination here is what makes it work: sweet pineapple, soft pawpaw and banana, crisp apple and pear, and watery watermelon give a different texture with every bite. There is no cooking and no dressing, so it suits a hot day, a party table or a quick bite for children.
Instructions
Peel the pineapple, pear, apple, pawpaw and banana. The watermelon does not need peeling in the source, so cut the rind away only if you prefer it that way.
Cut every fruit into small chunks of roughly the same size, so each skewer is easy to bite and the pieces sit together neatly.
Thread the chunks onto a skewer, mixing the fruits as you go so each skewer has a variety of colors and textures. Serve straight away as a snack.
Make it personal.
