Simple Chocolate Cheese Pie

This chocolate cheese pie takes about ten minutes of work and no oven. Cream cheese gives the filling a tangy, dense base, cocoa makes it properly chocolatey rather than just sweet, and whipped topping folded in at the end keeps each slice light. The store-bought graham crust saves the fussy part. Chill it until firm, then top with cherries, blueberries, or caramel. Melted chocolate or fudge can stand in for the cocoa.
Instructions
Melt the cream cheese until it is fully soft and pourable, then let it cool slightly so it will not deflate the topping later. Transfer it to a mixing bowl.
Add the cocoa powder and powdered sugar to the cream cheese. Stir until the mixture is smooth and no dry streaks of cocoa remain.
Fold in the whipped topping gently with a spatula. Stop when the mixture is an even chocolate color, so it stays light.
Spoon the filling into the ready-made graham cracker crust and smooth the top.
Cover the pie and put it in the refrigerator or freezer. Leave it until the filling is solid all the way through, then take it out.
Slice and serve. Fresh blueberries or cherries, or a drizzle of melted caramel, make good toppings.
Make it personal.
