Strawberry Pie

This strawberry pie is a simple way to turn a cup of sliced berries into a full dessert. The filling is cooked on the stovetop with sugar and a spoonful of lemon juice until it turns syrupy, and the lemon keeps the sweetness from going flat. A ready-made crust saves time, so most of the work is stirring a pot. Cool slices topped with whipped cream make an easy dessert for a crowd of six to eight.
Instructions
Put the sliced strawberries in a saucepan with the water, sugar and lemon juice.
Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring now and then, until it turns thick and syrupy.
Fit the pie crust into a pie pan, unless the crust already comes in its own pan. Pour the cooked strawberry filling into the crust.
Bake in a 350°F oven for 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Take the pie out and let it cool. Serve each slice topped with whipped cream.
Make it personal.
