Baloney Sandwich

A baloney sandwich on a Kaiser bun is about as plain as lunch gets, and the plainness is the appeal. Sixteen slices of bologna are stacked in alternating, overlapping layers so they spill past the edge of the bun, giving each bite a thick, meaty stack. Brown prepared mustard on the top half adds a sharp, tangy counterpoint to the mild, salty meat. It takes about two minutes to put together.

Instructions

Open the Kaiser bun and lay both halves cut side up on your work surface.

On the bottom half, pile the bologna slices in an overlapping pattern, alternating one slice toward the left and the next toward the right. The slices should spread out like a Venn diagram and hang a little over the edges of the bun.

Smear the brown mustard over the soft cut side of the top half. Set the top half onto the bologna and the sandwich is ready to eat.
