Cookies and Milk

Cookies and milk in one glass is a snack with deep roots in Canada, especially Ontario. Instead of dipping a single cookie, you stack several chocolate chip cookies in a glass and flood them with milk. After a couple of minutes they turn soft and cake-like, and the milk picks up sweetness. It is messy and takes under five minutes. Swap in chocolate milk for a stronger cocoa taste.

Instructions

Drop the cookies into a tall glass until it is about three quarters full. Four to six cookies is usually enough, though you can add more if you like.

Pour milk over the cookies until it covers the top one.

Let the glass sit for a couple of minutes so the cookies soak up the milk and soften. Wait longer for a softer, mushier cookie or a shorter time if you want some bite left.

Drink the milk and eat the cookies straight from the glass.
