Mutabbaq

Mutabbaq is a crispy, savory pastry that transforms simple filling into something extraordinary. What makes this Saudi Arabian classic compelling is the contrast: spiced mincemeat and aromatics wrapped in impossibly thin, buttered filo that shatters between your teeth. The technique is straightforward, but the result feels refined. If you've never worked with filo before, this dish is an approachable entry point that rewards precision without demanding professional skill.
